Worship Location and Time   Since January 11, 2009, our Sunday Worship Services have relocated to Bethany Center at 580 Capp St., San Francisco, CA. Sunday Worship is at 10:45 A.M. See you there! Later in 2010, Bethany will start the long awaited renovation and remodeling of its sanctuary and buildings.

Golden Gate District Prayer The Rev. Schuyler Rhodes, the pastor of Temple United Methodist Church of San Francisco, writes: “As we move into the season of Advent and look into the year ahead, the people of Temple United Methodist Church of San Francisco give thanks to God for the amazing things the Spirit is undertaking in our church! In our culture we are experiencing an economic recession and the financial downturn presents its challenges to us all. But we believe that this is no time to step back. This is no time to turn away in fear. This is the time God has called us to step forward joyfully to proclaim the Gospel and to serve the people. This is the time to make Christian Disciples and to build authentic community. “We ask for prayers as we launch our new evangelism campaign, “EACH 1 BRING 1,” in which we are asking people to commit to bringing one person to Christ in the coming year. We ask for prayers as our Food Pantry has grown into the biggest Food Pantry in San Francisco. May we serve our neighbors with dignity and with the love of God. For the many new families and children we see in our worship and community life we offer prayers of thanksgiving! For our Chinese Ministry and our Fijian outreach, we pray. “Most of all we pray for renewal and revitalization of the Church in these times. We especially give thanks for the chance we have to work together with our sister churches in the new circuits that are forming in San Francisco. “For the journey, for the struggle, for the growth and the walk, we give thanks and praise. AMEN!”

UMCOR on the Scene of Disasters In times of disaster, cash gifts to UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, will help support the immediate relief and long-term recovery of those affected by natural and human disasters. 100% of your gifts will go directly to aid those in need. You may place your gift in the offering plate on Sunday or send to the church office. Or you may contribute directly to UMCOR.

Annual Events There are a number of annual events that further define our community:     "Snow Weekend" at Lake Tahoe in January. Mardi Gras Sunday - A Dixie Land Jazz band joins us for a joyous worship service followed by a New Orleans brunch--held the Sunday before Ash Wednesday. Easter egg hunt for kids. Outdoor worship service - Each summer, our congregation moves to a local park for an outdoors service and picnic. Bethany holds retreats in the mountains including Labor Day weekend. Blessing of the Animals - Pet-owners are invited to bring their pets to church for a time of celebrating our animal companions and offering them a special blessing-held in October. Halloween party for the kids. Other events include luncheons, dinners, talent auctions, theatre nights, etc.
